Hello My Twenties – Il dorama meno dorama che abbia mai visto (in positivo!) ~ ☕☕☕☕

Saaaaalve a tutti!

ag1 poster

Dopo avervi finalmente spiegato tutti i perché e i percome dei dorama in questo meraviglioso articolo insieme a Pirandello, NON POTEVO non parlarvi di una serie asiatica che ho amato a dismisura, ovvero Hello My Twenties (Age of Youth in originale).

Continua a leggere

The Good Place – Mike Schur ~ ☕☕☕☕

Hello everybody!

As the fourth season approaches, I couldn’t not talk to you about The Good Place, series started a couple years ago.

Well, I suggested watching it in some of my previous reviews, and today I’m going to explain why. Continua a leggere

Future Man – Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg – PILOT ~ ☕☕☕

Hello everybody!

Even among the everyday tasks and struggles there’s time for a new TV show. I chose this one mainly because it has 20-minutes episodes, but… well, I’ll tell you a couple of words about the story and you’ll see.

What would you do if the characters from your favorite video game suddenly showed up in your room to tell you that the video game was NOT a video game at all, but the future reality, and you had just been chosen to save the human kind from extinction?

Believe it or not, that’s exactly what happens to Josh Futterman (Josh Hutcherson), Continua a leggere

The Handmaid’s Tale – Bruce Miller – PILOT ~ ☕☕☕☕

Hello everybody!

locandinaWell, I guess everybody knows what I am going to talk about, because this tv show is incredibly popular.

I must confess: I watched the first episode without even reading the plot. I was just sick and tired of people being so obsessed with that and I wanted to figure out why. Before starting, I just knew it was a loved and apparently (- a few pictures on the Internet) historical drama.

I was not expecting a first episode like this.

Outlander – Ronald D. Moore – ☕☕☕☕

Hello everybody!

Today’s review is about Outlander! I don’t know if I should recommend it or not, it depends on you, however I love it and I can’t wait until the third season.

outlander

It’s a series full of twists so I will try not to spoil anything.

outlander3Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe) is a Second World War nurse, because of the war she was separated from her husband Frank (Tobias Menzies) for a long time, so, at the end of the war, she decides to go with Frank in the Scottish Highlands to regain the relationship that there was once. During their stay in the highlands, one night they secretly assist to an ancient Celtic ceremony. The next day Claire, interested by a plant, decides to return in the ceremony’s place. Then, while she’s in the middle of a circle of stones, she hears a strange noise coming from a stone and, when she touch it, she finds herself in 1743.

This, more or less, is the beginning of the series (/end of your not-obsessed-by-Scotland life). Claire finds herself in an era in which a short dress can be misunderstood and in the middle of the Scottish independence battles from England, while she’s trying to get back in her era to her only love Frank, maybe not so only and maybe not so love in front of a brave young Scot: Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan).

jamie

How to blame her…

Let’s start saying that if something made you believe that this is a fantasy series you are totally wrong. On TV Show Time it’s between the series recommended if you want something similar to Game of Thrones, but Outlander is nothing like that, I can tell you this because I started to watch it searching something similar to Game of Thrones, so trust me. Maybe the time travel can suggest that this is kind of a fictional series but it’s not, the time travel is more like a strange mistery of the celtic tradition and the plot is so full of twists that you almost forget it.

ols2_keyart_originalspicker_598x336 (1)As you can tell, Outlander is an historical series and it’s very very realistic, it has many strong scenes (sex, tortures, amputations exc.) so of course it’s not for a young audience, furthermore it has a slow narration, given by Claire, and it’s rich of details, thoughts etc, which make the series wonderful but also very slow, so for some of you, it could be boring.

outlander-tobias-menzies-spielt-frankjonathan-randallNow I would really like to dedicate a few words to the “bad guy” of this series: Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies). I can’t tell very much about him because of the spoilers, but I will say that he’s one of the most complicated characters I’ve ever seen. He’s so bad, he’s very very bad, he’s the devil on earth (omg I can’t think about it now), the thing is that you can’t understand if he’s so bad for a reason (like all the classic bullies) or if he’s evil just because he’s evil. In the first season he’s just the nightmare, in the second you could believe him to have a soul, a dark one, but at least a soul and now I guess we’ll have to discover the rest in the next season.

In short Outlander is a very well made series, I highly recommend it, especially if you like history. It also has a beautiful and complicated love story so if you’re into it, you’re welcome to the Outlander family. One little flaw: you could be annoyed by violent scenes, they’re not so strong and they’re not so many, but they could annoy you.

OutlanderLast but not less important: the soundtrack! The opening is just amazing and I really appreciated the change in the opening of the second season, I can’t say how it changes because it will be a huge spoiler but I can say that it’s just amazing. If some of you have seen the second season please comment and tell me how much is beautiful the opening!

Allen

P.S. the series is taken from the book “Outlander” by Diana Gabaldon, I haven’t read it, but if some of you have please comment and let me know what do you think about it!

Mom – Chuck Lorre, Eddie Gorodetsky & Gemma Baker ~ ☕☕☕

Hello everyone!

I’ll start by saying that Mom, which I am reviewing right now, is still in production and is a sit-com (situation comedy) and not a TV series like Grey’s anatomy or so. This allows me to review it even if it’s not finished yet because it doesn’t have a “plot” but just characters in different situations that change episode by episode.

So, after this short introduction, here’s the “plot” for you. Continua a leggere

Reign – Laurie McCarthy & Stephanie Sengupta – Season One ~ ☕☕☕☕

Hello everyone and welcome back to the tv series section!

Today I’m going to review the first season of a show that my friend Pirandello recommended me to watch: Reign.

The first time we talked about this show I was not very interested in it, but one day I watched the first episode and everything changed. Why?

Let me tell you something about the plot. Continua a leggere
