Hollywood – Una miniserie che sa il fatto suo ~ ☕☕☕☕

Salve a tutti! Come state?

Con la fine della quarantena e l’inizio dell’estate sembra che la voglia di vedere serie TV stia scemando, almeno per me, ma comunque non abbastanza da farmi rinunciare alle ultime uscite di Netflix. Se poi queste ultime uscite coinvolgono Hollywood, gli anni ’50 e Jim Parsons, be’, la luce del sole può aspettare (okay, sia chiaro che sto esagerando, stare al sole fa bene).

Sono proprio questi gli ingredienti che compongono Hollywood (chi l’avrebbe mai detto?),  la miniserie uscita sulla piattaforma il 1° maggio e di cui mi sono lentamente ma inesorabilmente innamorata.

Se siete curiosi di sapere di cosa parla…

Nella recensione di oggi voglio parlarvi di un film d’animazione targato Netflix uscito nel periodo natalizio – sì, lo so che tra un po’ è Pasqua, ma pazienza – che mi è piaciuto da morire. Sto parlando ovviamente di Klaus!

Candidato all’Oscar (che però, sfortunatamente, non ha vinto), questo film ha conquistato tutti – grandi e piccini – non solo per la trama e per i personaggi, ma anche per il bellissimo messaggio che cerca di trasmettere.

Ma ora basta chiacchiere. Partiamo con la trama!

I Am DEFINITELY Okay with This! ~ ☕☕☕☕

Today I really want to talk about one of the most recent Netflix releases, I Am Not Okay with This, based on the graphic novel written by Charles Forsman. Well, I am. I definitely am, as you can guess from the title: I just loved it.

Just to be clear: even if I didn’t even watch the trailer, my expectations on it were sky high, since it’s “from the producer of Stranger Things (Shawn Levy) and the director of The End of the F***ing World (Jonathan Entwistle)” and I loved both these incredible shows (go check ‘em out right now if you haven’t so far).

Sono reduce dalla maratona (in realtà piuttosto breve) di una delle ultime uscite di Netflix: la serie I Am Not Okay with This, basata sull’omonima graphic novel scritta da Charles Forsman.

Devo dire che le aspettative che avevo in proposito non erano altissime ma… be’, un po’ ne avevo. E, con grande piacere, non sono rimasta affatto delusa.

How are you?

Yes, I know that Christmas is kind of too late now (or too soon, your choice) but I had to write a review of the wonderful Netflix movie Klaus. I had to.

It didn’t win the Oscar as Best Animated Feature, but it definitely deserved the nomination: this movie is the perfect mix of good story, nice characters and meaningfulness (does this word exist? Not sure really. Well, you got the point, didn’t you?).

Enough chatting. Let’s begin with the plot.

I have recently watched one of the latest Netflix shows and it pleasantly surprised me: Locke & Key.

It is based on a comic book series I knew nothing about, created by Joe Hill – who handled the show too.
At the moment, Netflix released the first season with 10 episodes and I am almost certain that it will be released a second season – it has not been confirmed yet, though.

Let’s cut to the chase, what is this show about?

Today’s review concerns a show by Netflix: The Witcher.

Even though I have immediately seen it, as soon as it was out, I have waited until now to talk about it because I needed to reorganize my ideas.

The Witcher originates from the namesake video game based on the book saga created by Andrzej Sapkowski – saga I hope to review soonish.

The plot develops around three main characters:

Oggi la piattaforma che ha conquistato il mondo ha rilasciato l’attesissima seconda stagione della comedy britannica Sex Education. Dai due trailer (l’ultimo rilasciato ieri) capiamo che tante, tante cose ci aspettano nella seconda stagione, nuovi personaggi e vecchi amori si rincontrano, insomma… chi di voi farà una bella maratona questo weekend?

Chilling adventures of Sabrina – Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa ~ ☕

The title has warned me.
But I have not understood that “chilling” meant “horrid” and not “scaring”.

Well, yes, through today’s review I am going to explain why the reboot of the amazing “Sabrina, the teenage witch” is making me reconsider Élite, that, despite the big problems about thematics, at least has a story that entertains, that convinces you – more or less – to watch the next episode, a story that does not bore you.

“Chilling adventures of Sabrina” is a TV show, just released by Netflix, that is supposed to be the horror reboot of the adventures of our beloved little witch.
It consists of just 10 episodes, but, I tell you right now, I did not succeed watching the last three.
I could have, true, but, ending the seventh episode, I just thought I did not want to waste other 3 hours of my life this way.
Yes, three hours, you read right. Because one of the biggest defect is the length of the episodes.

One hour per episode is too much for a show of this kind.
To be honest, shows that can afford episodes of this duration are very few, and they are show such as Peaky Blinders, not this one.
